Yes. 00:00:12
There you. 00:00:14
Hey, Saman. 00:00:16
I want to say happy birthday. It's Samantha's birthday today. 00:00:19
Thank you. 00:00:24
Thank you. Thank you. 00:00:26
Yeah, all I can say is you got to watch that. After a while they add up. 00:00:30
OK, I'm going to call this special meeting to order November 20th at 10:30. 00:00:38
And because of the type of meeting we're having today, I'm going to forego the Pledge of Allegiance and get right to our agenda 00:00:44
item. 00:00:47
With us in Young is Supervisor Klein. Do we have Supervisor Humphrey with us? 00:00:52
No, Sir, he's not here today. 00:01:01
She said no. She said no. OK, we still have a quorum, so. 00:01:07
Item Two ways Information, discussion and action to acknowledge the Letter of Certification. 00:01:11
For the November 7th, 2023, the County School District elections held within Heila County is submitted by the Gila County School 00:01:17
Superintendent and Good Morning Roy Sandoval. 00:01:23
Good morning. I'm looking here at empty chairs because that's where the camera is. 00:01:30
Thank you for this special meeting and thank you to. 00:01:35
Elections director Eric Mariscal for all of his hard work. Mercedes Joe. 00:01:40
We have thoroughly canvassed, confident that all the votes have been counted and all of the necessary requirements have been. 00:01:46
I'd like to hand you a hard copy packet here. 00:01:57
I think you have. 00:02:00
Umm. 00:02:04
So my recommendation is to. 00:02:05
Is it the board will accept this canvas and accept that the? 00:02:09
It has been thoroughly canvassed and that the votes are in and that they are accurate. 00:02:16
I'm sorry, Roy, are you asking a question? No, I'm making a recommendation. 00:02:27
OK. 00:02:32
You know what's interesting is I can hear Samantha typing like crazy. 00:02:35
Is that normal? 00:02:40
What's your birthday? 00:02:41
OK, so. 00:02:44
Supervisor Klein, do you have any questions? 00:02:47
Just just a statement, Roy. And you're looking over the letters, it looks like Miami passed and Payton didn't correct. That is 00:02:52
correct. 00:02:57
Patient had a Miami's had a 25% voter turn out It passed. Payson's had a 38. 00:03:03
Voter turn out it did not. 00:03:12
OK. Thanks Roy. This was gonna throw that out there so being based listening or on YouTube they they would know. OK yeah and and. 00:03:16
The patient was a. 00:03:24
Vote difference? Yeah, it was close, it looked like to me. 00:03:28
So that's all, Mr. Chair. 00:03:34
OK. Thank you. Roy. Can you just briefly explain what it means when you have your over votes and under vote? What is that Eric? 00:03:36
Give a little more detailed explanation. 00:03:47
Yes Chairman Christensen An over vote indicated that the individual who voted voted both yes and no. 00:03:51
And because of the nature of the way the votes. 00:03:57
There was no way when, upon review of our board, there was no way that we could determine what their intention was. They circled. 00:04:01
Yes. And they circled in no. Very, very clearly. There was no telltale science. Sometimes they'll put an X through one and they'll 00:04:09
say no. They'll circle this. The one that they want to say this is the vote I request that I want to have. But in this particular 00:04:14
instances on these over votes there were no. 00:04:19
No discernible marks, nothing that we could determine how they wanted to vote, their intent. So they just simply yes and no. They 00:04:25
wasted their vote. It was an over vote. An under vote is simply when they chose not to respond. 00:04:31
Yes or no. And there was also no indication of the intention of the voter. They just simply. 00:04:38
In that fashion sometimes, in both cases, sometimes it's just a protest vote by the voter or they have no, they don't really care 00:04:44
and they just, they're just turning in because they feel that, oh, I have to turn this in because that's just the way it is. But 00:04:50
in these particular instances, there was no discernible marks that allowed us to go ahead. 00:04:56
Try to make the voter intent clear. So that's one of those over votes and under votes come from Sir. 00:05:03
OK. Thank you, Eric. OK, If there's nothing else, I don't have any other questions, I'll entertain a motion. 00:05:08
Mr. Chair, I'd make the. 00:05:15
To accept the letter of certification for the November 7th, 2023 Gila County School District elections and I will second that 00:05:18
vote. All those in favor say aye, aye aye. 00:05:25
That's an eye for both supervisor, client, supervisor Christensen motion passes. 00:05:33
Thank you so much. 00:05:39
You're very welcome. More thank you. 00:05:41
The last item on the agenda is a call to the public. Is there anyone on the Internet that wishes to speak? 00:05:45
Dave. 00:05:55
OK, And no one present in Globe and no one present in Payson, Mr. Chairman. 00:05:58
Yes. 00:06:06
I'll participate in call the public and just wish everybody the best of the holidays this week for Happy Thanksgiving. 00:06:08
To. 00:06:16
Yeah. Thanks. Thank you, James. Yeah. 00:06:20
Yeah, we all wish everyone a good Thanksgiving Family Day and be safe out there on the roads. 00:06:24
You provided decline. You're aware that we had a tornado and valley. I know we can't discuss this, so I'm just. 00:06:33
Making sure. 00:06:41
Yeah, I've been following. 00:06:42
Yeah. 00:06:44
I'm going to try and tweak another illegal in which is I talked to Homero and they're working out maybe putting some dumpsters out 00:06:50
there, so just saying that anyway. 00:06:55
If there's nothing else, then I will adjourn the meeting. Thank you. Thank you. 00:07:01
